I was driving home this evening on uber icy roads listening to "mae - summertime", i thought ironic. 

I mention that Christmas is just 2 weeks away, to one of my friends today, he replied:  "I hate Christmas, with all the commercialism."  This is true, very true.

  How should we react in a culture of consumer Christmas, when the other 80ish percent of the world cannot par- take in this "holiday"?  I think that awareness is a big part of it, meaning we need to know situation of the other 80ish percent of the world.  I need to take the truth seriously, that my church family extents not just across the wealthy portion of the US but to impoverished of the world.  I must remember that when i entered the Kingdom of God, entered into a Kingdom where Love was the new law.  Oh, I claim to worship Jesus....who was born-in-a-barn and choose to live as a homeless man!  Can i see through this "Christmas makeup", to the pain in Jesus' heart when he sees those suffering because of our socking stuffers.  Just please, react to this.
